Interpersonal Skills and Self-Defense Seminars for Women . This seminar is geared to adult women. It aims to be a basic introduction to self-defense and includes education, basic prevention techniques, and basic physical self-defense skills. The education component includes discussions about the prevalence of violence against women, definitions/examples of abuse, basic safety skills, and societal expectations of women. It includes basic preventions skills such as awareness, assertiveness, and communication skills. Finally, the seminar reviews basic physical skills, including striking targets, punches, blocking, and evasion techniques. This seminar is geared to be a general introduction of self-defense concepts.

Mother-Daughter Self-Defense Seminar . This seminar is geared to mothers and their teenage daughters. It aims to be a basic introduction to self-defense and includes education, basic prevention techniques, and basic physical self-defense skills. The education component includes discussions about the prevalence of teen dating violence, definitions and examples of what abuse looks like in dating relationships, and a dialogue about healthy relationships. It includes basic preventions skills such as awareness, assertiveness, and communication skills. Finally, the seminar reviews basic physical self-defense skills, including striking targets, punches, blocking, and evasion techniques. These are usually offered the first saturday of every month.
Interpersonal Skills and Physical Empowerment for Adolescent Girls. In this seminar series geared towards adolescents, we combine education, psychological skills training, and physical empowerment skill building. The educational component addresses issues related to adolescence such as understanding healthy relationships, prevalence of teenage dating violence, gender role socialization, media literacy and internet safety, and emotion regulation. The psychological skill training addresses preventive skills such as awareness, assertiveness, boundary setting, and communication skills. Finally, the seminar reviews basic physical self-defense skills, including striking targets, punches, blocking, and evasion techniques. This seminar is longer than the standard seminars and is offered once a week for 6 weeks.
Transitioning to College. The goal of this class is to help adolescents successfully transition from high school to college. The topics discussed vary depending on the needs of participants but include topics of developing friendships, planning and organization, time management, loneliness, and safety/self-defense.
