Do you take insurance, and how does that work?
Dr. Keller does not accept insurance at this time. All services at are provided on a fee-for-service basis. Fees are discussed prior to your initial appointment and full payment is due at the time services are rendered. Cash or personal check are accepted. If you have a health insurance policy, however, it will usually provide some coverage for mental health treatment. Although she will not bill your insurance directly, Dr. Keller will fill out forms and provide you with whatever assistance she can in helping you receive reimbursement for the services you have paid for. Individuals are responsible for their own insurance billing, if applicable, and Dr. Keller will provide clients a superbill for submitting claims for reimbursement directly to their insurance. You (not your insurance company) are responsible for full payment of her fees. It is very important that you find out exactly which mental health services your insurance policy covers if you wish to submit a claim for reimbursement. Authorization is often required in advance.
To determine if you have mental health coverage through your insurance carrier, the first thing you should do is call them. Check your coverage carefully and make sure you understand their answers. Some helpful questions you can ask them:
- What are my mental health benefits?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- How many therapy sessions does my plan cover?
- How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider?
- Is approval required from my primary care physician?
Payment is due at the beginning of each therapy session. I accept payment by check or cash.
Individual psychotherapy $300/ per 50 minute session
Group therapy $50 per 1.5 hour session
Reduced fee services are available on a limited basis.
If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.
